There was excitement in the air on Wednesday, March 20th, as parents filed into the Ysleta Middle School Cafeteria. There were balloons, bags and bright-eyed administrators! As parents settled into their seats, the 8th grade students begin marching into the gym, guided by the cheers and chants of the Ysleta High School Dance Team and Cheerleaders. Mr. Perez welcomed all, and then Ms. Amelia Garcia, the Principal of YHS, broke the news. These 8th grade students were accepted into the Ysleta High School Early College Academy. Lives were changing and tears of joy were shed! Congratulations to the hard-working 8th grade students! Wishing them much success as they will start a new chapter in their academic careers come this fall.
