Ysleta Middle School is Home to Our Braves!

Ysleta Middle was established in 1976 and was the first middle school in the Ysleta area. It is located behind Ysleta High School and nestled near the Rio Grande and the border of Mexico. Our school offers a STEM program in conjunction with Project Lead the Way to prepare students for their future. STEM courses integrate science, technology, engineering and math to help students build their problem-solving skills using real world issues.

We have been rated a "B" rated campus by TEA. Our campus was recently consolidated with Rio Bravo Middle School. Our students come first and United We're Stronger!

We offer our students a wide variety of academic challenges on our campus coupled with a wealth of electives to choose from.  Students can participate in Band, Jazz Band, Orchestra, Guitar, Choir, Dance or Art. When it comes to extra-curricular activities, Ysleta Middle School students have many choices besides our traditional sports teams!  Students can participate in Student Council, Art Club, Dance Club or eSports.  If their grades and community service meet the requirements, they can also be nominated for our National Junior Honor Society. Students can also participate in Academic UIL events and our Vex Robotics Team. 

Our school offers a thriving athletic program for student athletes. Many students have an opportunity to try various sports for the first time at the middle school level. Students can play football, volleyball, cheerleading, soccer, wrestling, basketball, and baseball. The opportunity to participate in a sports team in middle school allows students to become better prepared in sports for when they move on to high school.

Parent involvement is crucial to the success of our students. Our Community In Schools program coordinates and welcomes parents and community members to come to our monthly parent activities, which may include nutritional classes and informative sessions targeted to issues facing our families on a daily basis. Our CIS coordinator also organizes a homework center after school to assist students who may need help or motivation to complete their assignments. 

Our campus is currently undergoing renovations to improve our facilities for our students, staff and teachers.  Our library has been renovated and we cannot wait to reveal it soon!  Students will be excited to see the improvements and welcoming atmosphere conducive to reading a good book!
