What is Community Service?
Community service is work done by a person or group of people that benefits others. It is often done near the area where you live, so your own community reaps the benefits of your work.
Examples of Community Service:
Helping with food and clothing drives
Church projects
Working at soup kitchens
Disabled citizen assistance
Providing community-wide daycare
Animal care/shelter work
Camp or park volunteer
Aid to the elderly
Service done with school clubs/groups
Cooking/Serving at Ronald McDonald House
Working at elementary school carnivals/events
Hospital volunteer
Library work
Meals on Wheels
Tutoring
Big Brother/Big Sister
Helping teachers in their classrooms
Reading Buddies Program at elementary schools
