Congratulations to our incredible Parkland High School Choir and Piano students for their outstanding performances at the YISD State UIL Solo and Ensemble event held last Saturday! Once again, the Parkland Choir, under the direction of Ms. Eun-Mee Garza, showcased their exceptional talent, earning top honors across the board.
We are proud to announce that 23 vocal soloists, 2 piano soloists, and 20 ensemble members earned Superior (Division 1) and Excellent (Division 2) ratings. These talented Matadors have qualified to represent PHS at the State UIL Solo & Ensemble Contest at UT Austin on May 24, 2025.
Division 2 – Excellent Ratings (Vocal Soloists):
Emoni Allen, Alari Blea-Vaughan, Valeria Diaz, Briana Martin Del Campo, Jose Martinez, Matthew Rangel Sanchez, Rebecca Reyes, and Alexandra Rodriguez.
Division 1 – Superior Ratings (Vocal & Piano Soloists):
Devin Calvin, Ehan Castillo, Elijah Diaz, Grace Diaz, Zachery Frescas, Divine Gonzalez, Mikhail Haden, Yumirelle Ibarra, Abigail Martinez, Grace Martinez, Jacob Martinez, Ashley Munez, Ervin Smith, Julius Soto, Jonas StCyr, Annalyssa Robinson (Piano), and Amir Rivera (Piano).
Madrigal Ensemble:
Our 20-member Madrigal Ensemble also earned Division 1 – Superior ratings, qualifying for state competition.
We are incredibly proud of our Matador musicians for their dedication, artistry, and continued excellence. Special thanks to Ms. Garza for her unwavering guidance, passion, and commitment to student success.
