The Parkland High School Mathletes Team demonstrated incredible teamwork and talent at the EPCC Math Invitational held this past weekend, November 16th, earning top honors in multiple events and showcasing the strength of their collective effort. Competing against some of the region's most talented math teams, the Matadors delivered exceptional results:
1st Place in Math
2nd Place in Number Sense
2nd Place in Calculator Applications
3rd Place in Science
Leading the team was senior Jacob Jones, who achieved an extraordinary trifecta by earning 1st Place in Math, 1st Place in Science, and 1st Place in Number Sense in the 12th-grade division. His stellar performance set the tone for the team’s success.
But the spotlight wasn’t on one individual alone. Fourteen Mathletes represented Parkland, each contributing to the team’s victories. Several students placed and ribboned in their events, showcasing the depth of talent and teamwork that define the Matador spirit. From collaborative problem-solving to impressive individual displays of mathematical skill, the team worked together to achieve greatness.
The Mathletes’ success reflects the dedicated guidance of coaches Jaime Martinez and Agatha Orona, who have fostered an environment of collaboration, perseverance, and academic excellence.
Congratulations to the entire Mathletes Team for your outstanding performance! Your teamwork and dedication continue to make Parkland High School proud.
