The Parkland High School Matador Band continues to make waves with their stellar performances, recently earning a spot in the finals at the Texas UIL Area A (5A) Contest in Midland, TX. This prestigious competition, held on Saturday, October 26, 2024, saw the band named one of the Top 10 bands in the region—a significant achievement showcasing their talent, dedication, and hard work.

This remarkable milestone was made possible by the exceptional guidance and expertise of the band’s staff:

  • Mr. Carlos Vasquez, Percussion Technician

Each member of the team played a pivotal role in preparing the students for this highly competitive event, contributing to the band’s cohesive performances and inspiring their drive for excellence.

The Matador Band isn’t slowing down after their success at Regionals. Their next competition will take place this Saturday, November 2, at the Tournament of Bands (TOB) hosted by New Mexico State University. The band is eager to showcase their skills on a new stage, with the continued support of their coaches, staff, and community.
