We are thrilled to announce the remarkable achievements of Parkland High School's theatre group at the recent UIL (University Interscholastic League) competition. Our play production, Bocon!, has garnered immense praise and recognition, propelling us to the prestigious UIL One Act Play Area contest in Seminole, TX.

Representing the Ysleta Independent School District (YISD) in the 5A area competition, Parkland Theatre showcased exceptional talent and dedication. The cast and crew poured their hearts and souls into every aspect of the production, and their hard work has undoubtedly paid off.

Among the many highlights of our success at the UIL competition are the individual accolades earned by our talented performers:

Jackie Porras and Isaac Hidalgo: These two outstanding actors have been awarded the coveted All-Star Cast award, a testament to their exceptional performances and the depth of their talent.

Jose Arango: Recognized with an Honorable Mention All-Star Cast award, Luis's portrayal brought depth and authenticity to his character, leaving a lasting impression on both judges and audiences alike.

Saria Wright: In addition to the stellar performances on stage, Saria's exceptional skills in technical theatre were duly recognized. She received an award for excellence in technical theatre, highlighting her invaluable contributions to the overall success of Bocon!.

Behind every successful production is a dedicated team of mentors and guides. We extend our heartfelt appreciation to our Theatre Arts teachers, Larissa Gomez and Jenny Luna, whose guidance, expertise, and unwavering support have been instrumental in shaping our theatre group's journey to success.

These achievements not only underscore the immense talent within Parkland Theatre but also reflect the dedication and commitment of our students, directors, and support staff. Their collective effort and passion have propelled Parkland High School to the forefront of theatre excellence in the region.

As we prepare to embark on the next phase of competition at the UIL One Act Play Area contest, we carry with us the pride and spirit of Parkland High School.
