Welcome to the School Counseling
Vision
The mission of the Glen Cove Elementary Counseling program is to reach every student by utilizing the ASCA National Standards as a foundation for a program that supports academic, college/career, and personal/social development. We envision a future where all of our students are the best learners, friends, and citizens they can be. Along with the community, other educators, and parents/guardians, the school counselor monitors student progress, celebrates successes, and is an integral part of the educational program for student success. The school counselor educates, supports, and nurtures students by creating a school culture where all students will become kind, responsible, respectful, and successful citizens in their community. Our STAR students will be highly prepared to assume their future roles as lifelong learners.
Mission
At Glen Cove Elementary, we believe that all children can and will learn. To ensure that all children will reach their highest potential: 1. We will maintain high expectations academically and behaviorally to help students excel in and out of school. 2. We will educate and nurture student needs to ensure they develop mentally, physically, emotionally, and socially. 3. We will create a safe and inclusive environment where we can learn together and support each other in all areas. 4. We will foster a positive and kind school climate which respects and values diversity and nurtures student self esteem and confidence. 5. We will help all students to become academically prepared, demonstrating responsibility and showing a love for learning by delivering activities prompting academic, career, and social/emotional development.
