ARC is a top-ranked school in Texas!
New rankings released by U.S. News & World Report this week show Alicia R. Chacon International School among the top 20 percent of public elementary and middle schools in Texas. The data was published on more than 79,000 public and middle schools nationwide. ARC is ranked among the top 20 percent of more than 4,393 public middle and elementary schools in Texas, with a ranking of 328.
According to U.S. News & World Report, these new rankings focused on state assessments of students who were proficient or above proficient in mathematics and reading/language arts while accounting for student backgrounds, achievement in core subjects, and how well schools are educating their students. Student-teacher ratios are applied to break ties in the overall score.

Alicia R. Chacon International also ranked 2nd in middle school and 6th in elementary by the nonprofit research and advocacy group Children At Risk (C@R), which aims to help parents across the state better understand how their local schools are performing.
The 2023 Greater West Texas Middle & Elementary School Rankings analyzed 218 public schools in West Texas, including 127 elementary schools and 55 middle schools ranked across three main areas and 36 high schools ranked across four main areas in the following areas:
Student Achievement – Student performance on state standardized tests
Campus Performance – How a school compares in test scores to schools with similar levels of poverty
Growth – How students improve on their STAAR tests in a school year
College Readiness (high schools only) – How many students are graduating on time and participating in other college readiness activities
