Eastwood Girls Wrestling presented with proclaimation from City of El Paso.

Eastwood Wrestling team recognized at Board of Trustee's meeting.

The City of El Paso officially proclaimed March 21, 2025, as Eastwood High School Girls Wrestling State Championship Day in honor of the Lady Troopers' phenomenal achievement this year in capturing their third UIL state championship since 2020!

The Lady Troopers delivered a dominant performance at the state meet in Cypress in February, earning an impressive 130 points and outscoring the second-place team by nearly 35 points. Their ability to once again bring home the gold to The District of Champions is a true reflection of their collective commitment, resilience, and strength of their teamwork.

To honor their accomplishment, City Representative Deanna Maldonado-Rocha presented the team with an official proclamation on Friday, March 21, at the Eastwood High School theater. Earlier that week, the Lady Troopers were also celebrated during the Board of Trustees regular meeting at Ysleta ISD’s Central Office.

Adding to the celebration, Head Coach Troy Douglas [TBG1] [PL2] and Assistant Coach Gabriela Castro were named the 6A Girls Coaches of the Year by the Texas High School Wrestling Coaches Association, an honor that reflects their outstanding dedication and leadership.
