Ysleta ISD is thrilled to announce that Crystal Salom, the Assistant Principal of Glen Cove Elementary, has been honored as the 2025 Region 19 Assistant Principal of the Year by the Texas Elementary Principals and Supervisors Association (TEPSA). This prestigious peer-based award acknowledges exemplary leaders across the TEPSA Regions, celebrating Salom’s commitment to fostering a culture of excellence among students and teachers on her PK-8 campus.

"Crystal has played a pivotal role in creating a supportive and dynamic learning environment at her school. We are proud to recognize her leadership and dedication to ensuring students are engaged and successful in their education," said TEPSA Executive Director Harley Eckhart.

From the pool of regional honorees, one assistant principal will advance to be considered for the 2025 NAESP National Assistant Principal of the Year for Texas, supported by Horace Mann. This national recognition celebrates leaders dedicated to both academic and social excellence, community engagement, and innovative educational leadership.
