Young Women’s Leadership Academy (YWLA) senior Sara Vizcarra spent two unforgettable weeks studying social psychology at Pembroke College, Oxford University, as part of the Oxford Tradition Summer Program.

Her journey was made possible by the Billingsley/Burns Award for International Studies. Presented annually through the Young Women’s Preparatory Network (YWPN) to rising seniors, this competitive scholarship fully funded 100% of Sara’s travel costs—including airfare, program fees, and up to $12,000 for room and board.

Designed to enrich education and empower young women to pursue their dreams, the program allowed Sara to experience world-class academics while representing Ysleta ISD on a global stage.
